Lace up this fall with Optimus Grime in a can’t miss roller derby workshop!
International roller derby icon, Optimus Grime, is dynamic coach, and competitive skater with a global resume! With over a decade on wheels, Grime has racked up championship titles across Scotland, England, Australia, Europe, France, and more, while skating with 8 leagues worldwide.
Currently skating with Denver Roller Derby’s Ground Control (MRDA) and training for the Men’s Roller Derby World Cup 2026, Grime brings a hard-hitting, high-energy coaching style that’s sharpened the skills of over 150 leagues across 6 continents.
Whether you’re an adult skater, junior, or coach, this workshop series is built to challenge, inspire, and elevate your game.
Oct 3 | Closed session
Oct 4 | 12pm-1:30pm (All Juniors)
Oct 4 | 1:30-3:00pm (Level 2+ Juniors, must be contact ready)
Oct 4 | 4:00-7:00pm (Adult Day 1)
Oct 5 | 10am-1pm (Adult Day 2)
Oct 5 | 3pm-4:30pm (Adult Scrimmage)
The Oct 4 sessions will take place at the Fairview Community Recreation Center, 1121 E 10th Ave, Anchorage, AK 99501.
The Oct 5 sessions will take place at the O'Malley Sports Center, 11051 O'Malley Centre Dr, Anchorage, AK 99515.
This workshop is for any and all skaters that have passed their assessments. If you are unsure if this is you, feel free to reach out! The scrimmage will be for those scrimmage ready. There is also an opportunity to audit the work shop off skates.
