What to expect:
The Dome is nearly 150,000 square feet with an 80-foot ceiling and one of the largest permanent inflatable structures in the world! It houses a full-size regulation football field, ringed by a 400 meter 6-lane running track. With its floor-to-ceiling netting separating the turf field from the track, we're able to fly models with a high degree of safety.
While the in-air aircraft weight is restricted, there's no limit to the size of models that will be on display along the flight-line! Last year, there were several 10-12’ wingspan models to ogle.
Several times throughout the event, spectators will be treated to an exhibition by Internationally-ranked drone racing pilot, Ryan Martin! We challenge you to keep up with his insane speed.
On the off-road racetrack, the local RC race club will hold exhibition races, including Losi Pro-Moto races! In between rounds of racing, spectators will have the opportunity to drive around a racecourse. If racing isn’t your thing, you can get hands-on at our inflatable Try-Me Track or our mini rock crawlers.
There will also be an area for those who choose to bring their own basher to play with! Note: 1) The limit is 1/10 scale or smaller, and only 3S power or less. 2) There is no charging in The Dome, due to it being a pressurized structure and the fire safety measures in place are very strict.
If that weren’t enough, there will be a sweet drift course to check out!
Not into RC? No problem. There will be two model contests (not IPMS sanctioned events) for traditional plastic models and Gundam models. The two local train clubs will have some basic displays to spark your imagination!
In addition to the model railroad engineers, we'll have small-scale rocket scientists with an array of very impressive high-power rockets. The local kite fliers club will also be showing off some of their cool toys.
And don't forget to join us at center field where we'll be flying foam throw gliders and launching Stomp Rockets.
