This year’s Taps & Apps Golf to Give looks much different that our Taps & Apps event in years past, so please read the below instructions to ensure you don’t miss out on any of the fun and philanthropy we have planned for the week of Sept. 13-19:

  1. Visit Fox Hollow Golf Course & Sports Dome at your scheduled tee time, as specified when you register. If you need to change your tee time from your original selection, please contact the specified ACS staff member below. When you arrive, please visit the pro shop (mask required) to check in by providing your name and stating you have registered online with Taps & Apps. You will be provided with a special Taps & Apps score card and sent on your way to hit the greens! If you wish to participate in our online auction and forgo golfing, we’ve included a “no-golf” option in registration.
  2. Save your score card! It will serve as your voucher for “taps” and “apps” pickup at The Lakefront Anchorage on Saturday, Sept. 19th from 12 to 4pm (if you’re not golfing, just bring your MyAlaskaTix confirmation email to show at The Lakefront). Your ticket entitles you to two delectable appetizers and three tasty brews courtesy of Matanuska Brewing Company, all ready for you to pick up and take home for safe consumption. Mask required upon pickup. Guests must be 21 years or older to claim your Matanuska brews.
  3. While you’re enjoying your “taps & apps” at home, don’t forget to log on to our online bidding website to participate in our virtual silent auction, paddle raise, and games of giving including Mystery Wine and an Apple Watch drawing!

The Associate Board of Ambassadors is a community of young professionals committed to the American Cancer Society’s mission - saving lives by eliminating cancer – through philanthropic efforts to fund research for cures, support for patients, prevention and detection.

Your participation in our 2020 Taps & Apps helps ensure that critical support and resources can remain available for Alaskan cancer patients as the COVID-19 crisis persists. The American Cancer Society is still a non-qualifier for CARES Act funding and deep cuts have been made to staff and programming in Alaska and nationwide. Without support from our local community, our ability to continue serving Alaskan cancer patients is severely at risk. Every dollar in support of our mission means more now than it ever has before.

All funds raised from the 2020 Taps & Apps Golf to Give will support the following ACS services/programs being offered to Alaskan cancer patients:

    • Offering patients free rides to & from appointments through our Road to Recovery program
    • Offering patients free flights to & from treatment (within Alaska or to the lower 48, if needed)
    • Offering patients required to travel out of state free lodging at our Hope Lodge facilities, where applicable
    • Offering patients free patient navigation services via phone or video chat
    • Offering patients free peer-to-peer support through our Reach to Recovery program (breast cancer patient-to-survivor mentorship) and Cancer Survivors Network
    • Offering patients and caregivers continued access to our 24/7 helpline (1-800-227-2345)
    • Offering cancer prevention and education initiatives (currently in the areas of colorectal, lung, breast and HPV-related cancers) in the Alaskan community, including CME (continuing medical education) opportunities for providers
